I met Seonai when we were both living on Ko Yao Noi in Thailand. We were both members of the ThaiVisa.com website, and, as you can imagine, Seonai was quite a vocal member there! When I moved to Ko Yao Noi, Seonai and I met up for a few drinks and some decent conversation. That was the first of many meetings, and Seonai and I became good mates who leant on each other a lot. Despite living on a stunning tropical island, we both found the realities of such an existence to be not as easy as one may first think. Living without little luxuries, dealing with rats, snakes and spiders, and other nasties, and the general tough conditions were things that we both dealt with in our own way, and Seonai had it tougher than most. Seonai's condition took a turn for the worst and with the help of one man, Jaap, Seonai and Ziyo were on their way to the UK for proper treatment. Of course, Seonai did NOT want to go, but we kind of pushed her to do this for her son. Since being back in the UK, Seonai and I have only chatted by Skype, the last conversation being only last week. Her last words to me were: "Sorry hon please keep your spirits high and always remember that every negative has a positive okay XXX" "Here its 1am... let's see how it goes. Very proud of the way you've created a life for yourself." I am so proud of Seonai for living her last days with dignity and strength. I made her promise to pop in to see me every now and then and to make her presence known by jumping up and down on the end of my bed! She promised me she would, so I am waiting for her to pop in to see me! Last night, I had a couple of glasses of Vodka and Tonic in Seonais honour. I know that she will be looking over all of us for years to come and that she is waiting for us in the next place - wherever that may be. Seonai, honey, it was a pleasure to know you and you will be remembered by me as a smart, funny and entertaining woman. May you rest in peace and be enjoying the eternal happiness that you deserve. Donna.
